The charge date overrides the original date the system will set the invoice as "active", or the date the invoice started "charging". Normally, you can leave this field blank and the charge date will be the date the order was shipped. If you choose a new date, it will override that value. This is helpful if you need to charge a customer much before or after "shipping".
