If you want Allmoxy to keep track of your inventory as orders are placed/processed, then you want to link supplies in the parts. The reason that you'd also have an attribute linked first, is particularly for those attributes that are drop down options - this will allow the system to tell that the supply is different for each choice even though it's all coming from one attribute.
